About ToTools

What We Are

ToTools is a collection of free online micro-tools maintained by an independent developer in Taiwan. The core idea is simple: bring together small everyday utilities that you occasionally need but don't want to download a full application for, into a single web app that's ready to use out of the box.

No account creation, no installation — just open your browser and start using.

Why We Built ToTools

During development and daily work, I often needed to quickly generate a QR Code, compress an image before uploading, or estimate an object's size when I didn't have a tape measure. There are many such tools out there, but many are cluttered with ads, require sign-in or account creation, or even send uploaded files to remote servers.

ToTools aims to be a clean, lightweight, and privacy-respecting alternative.

Current Tools

• QR Code Generator: Enter text or a URL to instantly generate a downloadable QR Code PNG. Supports Chinese, Japanese, and other Unicode text, all processed in the browser.
• Screen Ruler: After calibrating your screen's PPI, turn your phone or tablet into an accurate ruler and tape measure — great for quick size estimates.
• Video Converter & Compressor: Uses FFmpeg.wasm to convert and compress video in the browser. Supports MP4, WebM, GIF, HLS (M3U8), and more — no server upload.
• Image Converter & Compressor: Convert between JPEG, PNG, and WebP formats and adjust quality and dimensions in the browser to reduce file size — no server upload.
• Wheel Picker: Enter a list of names and spin the wheel for a random result. Great for classroom draws, group assignments, lotteries, and more. Supports removing winners automatically.
• Floating Clock: Displays the current time accurate to milliseconds. Supports a floating Picture-in-Picture window that stays on top even when you switch tabs or apps.
• WeatherLive weather and forecasts blending multiple data sources

Technology & Privacy Principles

All tools that process files (video conversion, image conversion, QR Code generation, etc.) use a purely client-side architecture. Files you upload and text you enter are processed entirely within your browser — they are never sent to ToTools' servers or any third-party service, and are cleared when you close the tab.

We believe that utility websites should not use "free to use" as an excuse to access your data.
